Lawrence M. Holmes, Staff Sergeant, USAF


Air Force Staff Sgt. Lawrence M. Holmes has been decorated with
the Air Force Commendation Medal.
The medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding
achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on
behalf of the Air Force.
Holmes earned his third award of the medal while serving as a still
photographer assigned to the 460th Communications Squadron at Buckley Air
Force Base, Colo. He researched and directed the setup of the state-of-the
equipment at the Air Force's newest multimedia center. His leadership, job
knowledge, and dedication to duty profoundly affected his unit's mission.
Currently, Sergeant Holmes is the personal photographer for the
commander of the U.S. Northern Command at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado
Springs, Colo., where he documents visiting dignitaries from across the
globe. He has served in the military for more than 16 years.
He is the son of Adairia J. Watts of Denver, Colo.
His stepmother, Joyce M. Holmes, resides on Tulsa, Okla.
The staff sergeant is a 1984 graduate of Denver South High School,
Colo.
