I graduated in 1972. After high school I moved to Durango, CO to go to
college at Fort Lewis. Went for 1 1/2 years, dropped out, joined a religious
commune (remember this was 1974), left that, married my high school
sweetheart (Nancy Noll), started back to college, graduated in 1977 with a
degree in accounting and business, went to work for a local CPA firm, had
three boys in the process (now ages 19, 24, 28), became a partner in the
firm, started playing in a jazz group, ended up hooking up with a jazz band
out of Minneapolis and toured Norway for 2 1/2 weeks, played a lot of
sports, ran a couple of triathalons, coached, referred and played soccer,
all three boys have excelled in soccer, the older 2 boys played for Fort
Lewis College and went to the NCAA finals, the youngest is now a freshman at
Fort Lewis also playing soccer.
Nancy and I separated in 1994 after 20 years of marriage and divorced the
following year, still doing the CPA thing, have bought out all of the older
partners and have 2 newer partners.
I remarried in 2001, now also have 2 stepsons ages 20 and 22, I'm still
playing in a jazz group and loving it. I was elected and served a year as
president of the Colorado Society of CPA's, am currently on the national
Council for the American Institute of CPA's, involved in lots of community
stuff here in Durango, i.e., youth soccer, Southwest Safehouse, Durango
Homeless Shelter, City Finance Board, Durango Film Festival, and Community
Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado.
