Married to Marcia. They have 4 children and all went to Thomas Jefferson in Denver. (Boo)! Marcia and I have been married 31 years and are expecting our first grandchild. My son Jason and his wife bought and is living in the house that I lived in from birth until after I graduated from South. The unusual thing is that until they put in an offer, they had no idea that I grew up there. The Lord has a great sense of humor!

Duane J. Beebe
1950-1976
Duane J. Beebe, the person memorialized by this collection of books, was the only child of Jay S. and Natalee Beebe. He was born in 1950, in Wichita, Kansas, and was an infant when his father moved the family to Colorado after accepting a position as credit manager at a Denver area Dodge dealer.
Duane graduated from South High School and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder for one year before transferring to the Community College of Denver where he attended the 1970-71 academic year. He was 26 years old when he was killed in a car accident on August 26, 1976, while vacationing in California.
Jay S. Beebe died November 26, 1989, at the age of 72.
Natalee died May 3, 1996.
On December 5, 1996, Jack Greenwald, the attorney for the Beebe estate, presented the Community College of Denver President, Byron McClenney, a check for $400,000 in honor of Duane Jay Beebe. The interest from the Duane Beebe Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to students who receive a CCD President's First Generation Scholarship. To date, more than 80 CCD students have benefitted from this scholarship fund. A plaque is located in the South Classroom Building which commemorates the bequest.
In addition to the money, the Beebe estate donated more than 800 books to the Auraria Library. The present exhibition of fiction represents a small portion of this gift.
